Woks originated in China. Although used primarily for stir-frying, woks can be employed in steaming, braising, deep-frying, stewing, and even soup making. It is often used in concert with a long handle spatula or a long handle ladle which allows the user to cook and maneuver the food at very high temperatures without risk of burning themselves. |
