Our flower
string light, or flower lights for short, is an eco-friendly, sustainable plant product made from real leaves. Village farmers in Thailand collect rubber tree leaves, place them in a river, and soak them for weeks. Once the flesh of the leaf has loosened, it is rubbed off leaving behind the natural leaf skeleton. The skeletons are then dyed. 8 leaf skeletons are artistically wrapped onto each string light creating a beautiful flower light. Each step is done by hand and the result is a natural translucent flower unlike anything else. Since village farmers are earning a living through this sustainable plant to product process, trees that might normally be cut for income are now protected by these farmers.
