The bright red mineral, cinnabar, has a long history in China. The first cinnabar carvings were crafted during the Ming Dynasty of 1368-1644. The vermilion-red stone is now artificially produced from a lacquer which is derived from a tree sap found in China. Each bead is hand carved with intricate designs representing various symbols or images. Our collection features a Ba Gau - an eight-sided disk that is used in Feng Shui practices to enhance positive energy, while deflecting negativity.
