Seasoning is a tedious process that requires deep cleaning and repeated heating and oiling of the wok over very high heat. The carbon steel reacts naturally to this seasoning process and produces a cooking surface that is virtually non-stick. The more the pan is used, the thicker and more durable this seasoned surface becomes.
